Black Swan
Official German Movie Poster
Black Swan was one of the most successful movies in the year 2010. Natalie Portman won several awards for her role. Unfortunately, Mila Kunis did not win any for her role although I think she did an excellent job. Maybe I only think so because one could see her in hot lingerie in the movie but whatever.
I do not want to go too much into detail contentwise in case anybody who reads this has not seen the movie yet. In general one can say that Black Swan is a psycho thriller about ballet dancer Nina (Natalie Portman) who lives with her controlling mother. Nina tries hard to be perfect and dances really well but her trainer Thomas (Vincent Cassel) criticizes that she is not feminin and sexy enough. When Lily (Mila Kunis) shows up Thomas is excited about her passion.
Lily does not like to stick to rules. She does not live the standard ballet dancer life which consists of training, eating healthy, not drinkin alcohol, not taking drugs and going to bed early at night.
Lily is a real concurrent for Nina but does not realize that and tries to help Nina relax a little. Nina is not really able to handle the help and suffers from paranoia and hallucinations. My favorite hallucination is the one where Nina thinks she has sex with Lily.
Of course I am not going to tell you how the movie ends because I want you to watch it yourself. I just think it is one of the most intense movies in the last few years. The combination of the movie scenes and the ballet scenes works really well - especially in the end.
